Our story

Seven years,

in seven chapters

How two people who disagreed about almost everything ended up agreeing on the one thing that mattered.

2019

The umbrella

A bookshop in Marlow Street. One umbrella between two strangers who had both bought the same novel. Theo offered to walk Elena to the station. The station was in the opposite direction.

2020

Letters across a shut city

Postcards taped to each other's doors became the only way to visit. Elena still has all forty-one. Theo claims he sent forty-two.

2021

A kitchen with one working hob

Our first flat together. We learned to cook in sequence, not in parallel. Theo took the pasta, Elena took the sauce, and the smoke alarm took the rest.

2023

Nine countries, one suitcase

A year of saying yes to every invitation. Elena learned to ride a scooter. Theo learned that Elena should not ride a scooter.

2025

The question, on the cliff path

Elena asked first, at the top of the Ashcombe cliff path in a gale. Theo had a ring in his pocket. He said yes, then asked anyway.

2027

Hollowmere House

A garden at the bottom of the valley where we first walked. We hope you'll be there to see the next chapter begin.
